Founded in 2022, GMI's founders have a rich history of hosting Muay Thai events since 2010. They initiated the Golden Mongkhon 1st National Championship in 2021, focusing on developing players from amateur to professional level champions.

  • 1nd Golden Mongkhon National Championship was held in Bengaluru INDIA
  • 1st Golden Mongkhon National Muay Thai Championship was held in Bengaluru
  • 2nd Edition of BEST of 4 PRO event was held in Bengaluru
  • Received an affiliation from WORLD MUAY THAI FEDERATION becoming sole representative from INDIA
  • 3rd Golden Mongkhon National Muay Thai Championship was held in Bengaluru
  • Led the Indian Muay Thai team to the 18th World Muay Thai Championship in Bangkok, Thailand, in March 2023.
  • The Indian team secured 3 bronze and 2 silver medals at the 18th World Muay Thai Championship.
  • 1st DYAD MUAY THAI CHAMPIONSHIP WAS held in TAMILNADU
  • Led the Indian Muay Thai team to the 15th Asian Muay Thai Championship in TASKENT, UZBEKISTAN, in Aug 2023.
  • The Indian team secured 2 bronze and 1 silver medals at the 15th Asian Muay Thai Championship.
  • 4th Golden Mongkhon National Championship was held in Bengaluru
  • Led the Indian Muay Thai team to the 19th World Muay Thai Championship in Bangkok, Thailand, in March 2024.UPCOMING EVENTS FOR 2024
  • DYAD MUAY THAI CHAMPIONSHIP is scheduled for August, this time taking place in Kerala.

SHEDULE FOR 2025

  • 5th Golden Mongkhon National Muay Thai Championship successfully held in Bengaluru from 16th to 19th January 2025.
  • The 20th World Muay Thai Championship is scheduled to take place in Bangkok from March 12th to 20th, 2025.

Criteria & Procedure Applying for

Affiliation with Golden Mongkhon

  • Applicants must be active or former Muay Thai fighters or coaches who have produced a National Champion in GM championships.
  • Associations must include at least one professional Muay Thai fighter or one Pro-Amateur fighter with documented fight records.
  • State associations must be registered under the relevant society act or regional laws.
  • Gather required legal, financial, and organizational documents.
  • Fill out the GMI application form.
  • Submit all materials through by post.(address mentioned in AF)
  • The review will take place within 5 working days from the time we receive the documents by post,
  • we will have a call with the submitted applicant to explain the mandatory work and performance requirements set by the state body.
  • In the final step, applicants are required to visit Bengaluru to complete the affiliation process.

    (a) You can use the logos of Golden Mongkhon and WMF India at your events.
    (b) Access to the grading syllabus and authorization to conduct GMI-monitored grading.
    (c) Ranking based on fighters’ performance in all GMI-sanctioned events.
    (d) Grading according to the Muay Thai syllabus.
  • Event Participation
    (a) Compete in regional and national events organized by GMI.
    (b) Highlight your state’s talented fighters on international platforms, such as the WORLD MUAY THAI CHAMPIONSHIP and ASIAN MUAY THAI CHAMPIONSHIP, among others.

State Affiliation Charges

  • Annual fee of 12,000 INR to be paid by January 1st each year.

Roles and Responsibilities for Affiliated State Bodies

  • Participation in Zonal and GM National Championships
  • Organizing State-Level Championships
  • Hosting or Co-hosting at least one District Championship
  • Time guide from GMI for developing Muay Thai in the state needs to be addressed.
