Golden Mongkhon International proudly announces the fighters selected to represent Team India at the 21st WMF World Muay Thai Championship, which will take place from 10th to 20th March 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand.
This selection shows the steady growth of Indian Muay Thai. It also reflects the hard work, discipline, and commitment of Indian fighters preparing for international competition.
SELECTION PROCESS FOR 2026
This year, Golden Mongkhon International followed a simple and performance-based selection process to form a strong national team.
1. 6th Golden Mongkhon Title Belt Championship
Firstly, the main selection came from the 6th Golden Mongkhon Title Belt Championship. During this event, the selection committee actively reviewed fighters based on:
- Technical skills
- Fight awareness and control
- Physical fitness
- Discipline and competition mindset
As a result, champions and top performers from this championship make up the core of Team India.
2. Amateur National Muay Thai Championship – July 2025
Secondly, Golden Mongkhon International selected a few fighters based on their strong performances at the Amateur National Muay Thai Championship held in July 2025.
These fighters helped strengthen divisions where additional depth was required.
OPEN ENTRIES AND REPLACEMENT POLICY
Apart from the selected fighters, Golden Mongkhon International also accepting open-entry applications.
However, open-entry fighters will get a chance only in specific situations:
- If a selected fighter withdraws
- If a selected fighter gives up their division
- If a weight or age category remains unfilled
Therefore, Golden Mongkhon International will use open entries only to ensure that every division has proper representation and competition.

TEAM INDIA KIT POLICY – IMPORTANT UPDATE
For the 2026 championship, Team India kits will not include personalised fighter names.
Reason for This Change
Last year, several fighters withdrew at the final stage after Golden Mongkhon International had already invested & prepared personalised kits. As a result:
- The fighters did not complete kit payments
- The kits could not be reused or sold
- Golden Mongkhon International faced financial loss
2026 Kit Policy
Therefore, Golden Mongkhon International has decided the following:
- All Team India kits will be standard and non-personalised
- This rule applies to all fighters without exception
- The policy helps ensure fairness and avoids future losses
PARTICIPATION CONFIRMATION – FINAL DEADLINE
All selected fighters must confirm participation on or before 5th February 2026.
This deadline allows Golden Mongkhon International enough time for:
- Travel planning
- Accommodation booking
- Team India kit preparation
- Event registration and documentation
If a fighter fails to confirm before the deadline, Golden Mongkhon International will cancel the selection and offer the spot to an open-entry or reserve fighter.
Golden Mongkhon International will communicate only through state heads, coaches, and parents (for under-18 fighters).
A PROUD STEP FOR INDIAN MUAY THAI
Representing India on the world stage is a major honour. Therefore, Golden Mongkhon International encourages all selected fighters to train with focus, discipline, and respect for Muay Thai.
We look forward to seeing Team India compete with pride and confidence in Bangkok.
