Dilip Kumar J, born on November 18, 1988, has dedicated over 20 years to martial arts. His passion began in 2005 at an NCC camp where he met a boxer named Manju, which led to his victory in the 2006 State Intercollege Boxing Championship.
In 2013, Dilip joined Xtreme Muay Thai Academy (XMA) and was introduced to Muay Thai under Coach Hemanth. He competed in various state and national championships, earning one gold and three bronze medals. He also participated in three MMA fights, though he did not secure any win in MMA fights.
In 2014, Dilip transitioned into officiating, encouraged by Coach Hemanth. He has since officiated over 300 national bouts and participated in international competitions as both a referee and judge.
One of his most significant achievements came during the 19th World Muay Thai Championship, where Dilip became India’s second referee and judge at this level, following his partner, Mr. Biplov. His skill and knowledge earned him recognition from the World Muay Thai Federation, marking a proud moment in his career.
Dilip remains an active member of the martial arts community as a student, trainer, athlete, and official. He expresses gratitude to his coaches, mentors, and family, living by the motto: “Adapt, Improvise, Overcome.”
