Why Golden Mongkhon Chose to Host the National Amateur Muay Thai Championship
In combat sports, dreams don’t grow overnight. They demand grit, relentless effort, and years of sacrifice. For Mr. Hemanth Kumar, founder of Golden Mongkhon International, the ultimate dream was to host the Asian Muay Thai Championship in India—a historic moment he had been chasing for over a decade.
A Dream Built Over 10 Years
By 2024, the dream had finally taken shape. Infrastructure was in place. National and international officials were trained, and fighters across Asia had confirmed their participation. Every detail—from logistics to licenses—had been handled with precision.
However, things changed quickly. Rising international tensions and nearby conflicts sparked serious safety concerns. Several countries voiced hesitation about sending athletes to India under such uncertain conditions. Despite our efforts to reassure them, we couldn’t ignore the growing risks.
Eventually, we made the hardest decision yet—we postponed the championship. It wasn’t a retreat. Instead, it was a choice made out of responsibility and care for everyone involved.
The Pain of Letting Go
That moment shattered more than just schedules. It broke spirits. Mr. Hemanth had poured not just money into the project, but years of passion, hope, and belief. To watch that vision stall—after ten years of building—was heartbreaking.
Naturally, there were financial losses. Emotional ones too. Some of those may never be recovered. Even so, in the middle of despair, we saw something else: the fire to keep going.
A New Opportunity Emerges
Rather than walk away from the effort, Golden Mongkhon chose to redirect it. The energy, resources, and commitment already in motion were too powerful to waste.
So, we took a bold step. What could have been a setback became a new stage of opportunity.

This isn’t a backup plan—it’s a revival. Originally planned for Asia’s best, the platform now belongs to India’s rising stars. Young fighters from every state will enter the ring, new rivalries will form, and the spirit of Muay Thai will echo louder than ever on our own soil.
Rising from the Ashes
This championship stands as a symbol of resilience. It shows what can happen when we pivot with purpose instead of pausing in pain.
Moreover, the event strengthens the foundation of Indian Muay Thai. By turning focus inward, we give local fighters a national stage to showcase their talent, gain recognition, and dream bigger.
At a time when many would have backed down, Golden Mongkhon stepped forward. Waiting for ideal conditions wasn’t an option—we created them instead.
The Fight Will Never End
Yes, the financial damage is real. And yes, the dream took a hit. But we’re still standing. Still fighting.
Our vision to host the Asian Muay Thai Championship hasn’t died—it’s simply delayed. One day soon, it will return stronger than before. In the meantime, we will continue to uplift athletes, build the sport, and support our community.
Let the battles begin.
Let the gloves touch. Let the hearts roar.
Let Indian Muay Thai shine.
